Pumpkin Patch 2012

We visited a nearby pumpkin patch recently and met up with some friends.  The kids had fun playing on the playground!

And lastly, we got to pick a couple pumpkins for the house.  I didn't let Vince get a big one, telling him it was too heavy for me and we had to bring daddy!  So next time, we'll bring daddy!  (in reality, I knew Aldi had pumpkins for $3 and I didn't want to pay expensive pumpkin prices!) 

 

I love that I'm able to spend more time with the kids now and enjoy random afternoon activies like these.... :)  

Sept 2012 - C is 18 Months / Grandpa's Bday!

I've missed out on blogging recently... one day I'll go back and update where this whole spring/summer went!  Until then, I'll catch up on more recent events! 

 

Like early Sept 2012... my dad, who is known around here as Grandpa's, birthday.  We had a great weekend celebrating at home with our whole family... captured in these great pics... one with all his 5 grandchildren... and one with our bigger family! 

 

 

Later in September, we celebrated Carmen's 18 month birthday with a cake and another celebration!  Carmen, who started as a quiet little baby, has turned into one non-stop mover!! 

 

She barely started saying mama (drags it out... maaaa maaaa), which melts my heart.  She has been able to say dada and Vince (vin-che) for a long time now!  She has been able to sign since she was about 14 months, so she constantly lets us know when she wants to eat, drink milk, & take a bath.  She constantly signs for mama and dada, saying the words while she does.  She loves her Elmo and frequently requests for us to play Elmo's World from Sesame Street. 

 

She is a shoe connoisseur.  Always trying on different shoes, no matter if they are hers or not.  She steals everyone's toothbrushes or hairbrushes every chance she gets (and runs away when you try and get them back!).  

 

She yells... DIE... for MINE!!!  So, she in constantly telling brother or her cousin to DIE.  It's pretty funny when she is upset, arguing on the floor with them, yelling, die, die, die.   

 

She loves group hugs.. always wanting to hug daddy and mommy at the same time.. then when we are all in a hug... she asks for vin-che... so we end up doing family hugs alot... awww, i know :).  It really is fun though!

 Girl needs to grow some teeth!  Only has 2 on bottom.. I don't know how she eats all the food she does!  She never stops eating! 

 

Grandma is her favorite person... I'm a close second though! 

 



We love our little 18 month old girl! Wish we could freeze her in time at this cute stage! (Did I mention she's a great dancer? Moves her hips on beat to music!!)

The 1st few months of the year...

These are all things that happened the 1st few months of the year...

Vince played in his first organized sport!  Soccerball!  3 vs 3 four year olds.  Funnies thing ever!!  A lot of handballs, picking flowers, fowls, etc!!  He got good by the end of the season and was one of the top goal scorers!! 

This is at my cousin Janice's wedding weekend in Laredo in early March, right before Carmen's birthday.

Carmen and baby Max, who is just 2 months younger than her.  At this point, Carmen still wasn't walking!  Oh, that wasn't too long ago but it feels like it was!!

Next are pics of Carmen's 1st swim class!  Vince also got lessons at the same time!  At this point in the year it was still cold outside, we were trying to prepare them for the summer time that was coming!! 

Daddy had to participate in her first class as Mommy had a medical procedure that day...  it was a bad few months medically for Mommy, but all is well now!!

This must have been Vince's 8th swim class or so... he is so ready for the summer!!!

Carmen's 1st Birthday Pics

Back in March (yes awhile ago), we got these wonderful pictures taken of our little ones!!  It was to celebrate Carmen's 1st Birthday and was just 2 months after Vince's 4th Birthday!! 

We got some funny expressions, but cute nonetheless!  And we couldn't get a picture with a "1" without Carmen eating it!!  Enjoy!! 

Carmen's 1st Birthday Party

Carmen's 1st Birthday party was a huge success!  Filled with a ton of friends and family!! 

Carmen herself was a little tired by the time the her cake came out.  On top of that, she is not being a huge sweets fan and really wasn't interested.  Vince happily blew the candle, making it look like Carmen did it!

Even though she wasn't interested, I tried to help her out by putting her hand in the cake so she could taste it.  Carmen proceeded to wipe her face and make a mess... so at least it looked like she was enjoying the cake when she wasn't!! 

It was a beautiful day and the backyard was perfect for all the kids to run around and play in.  The jungle gym my dad bought for Vince got some good use!

Carmen just loves walking in and out of the triangles.  She switches between that and the trampoline back and forth and back and forth! 

We had a pinata that Carmen (and grandma) could not break...

neither could Vince despite his best effort!!

As predicted, cousin Jacob got the job done after all the kids had their turns!

After the pinata, we had an egg hunt with all the cascarones we made the day before... why wait until Easter when we can have twice the fun??

And last but not least, a picture of Carmen and her favorite person in the world (no, that is not mommy right now!).. it's Grandma!! 

A great day with great family and friends.  What else could a baby ask for??

Happy 1st Birthday Carmen!!!  We love you so much and are so happy you are in our lives!! 

Carmen's real birthday

My 1st birthday fell on a Friday.  Mommy said it was family day and I was going to have a party with lots of friends over on Saturday!

It started off with mommy following me around with a camera to try and get a good birthday picture... she really wanted to put this funny thing on my head called a bow, but I thought it was a necklace...

not on my head mommy!  on my neck!   

I think she got what she wanted... hope she's happy now!

Then I got a wardrobe change and got a princess crown... now that's what I'm talking about!! 

My best friend/cousin came over later to help me celebrate... is that my outfit she's wearing??   

We played outside later in the day when other family came over... I love walking around the grass and swinging!!   

I especially love sitting in these cool chairs!  My new thing is climbing in them myself!

Everyone then sang a song to me around a cake!  I don't like cake much, don't they know!!   

I love my family!!  They make me smile all the time for the camera!!   

My brother and cousins helped my aunt and grandma make cascarnoes.. I don't know what those are yet, but I can't wait to find out! 

Grandma and auntie really did all the work though.  But Myca really really wanted to help!!



I had a great 1st birthday!  With my family... just the way I like to spend my days!
