Just another weekend

I ran 5 miles on Sat morning with Team in Training. Only 21.2 miles to go to run the San Diego Marathon in May… man that sounds scary. 5 wasn’t a cake walk. Anyways, I was tired when I came home so I followed Vince around while he explored the house and got the camera out. I was really trying to catch him do this new thing he’s been doing… when standing up… he puts his hands on the ground, followed by his head and looks through his legs upside down. I’ve tried before to get a picture of this and got as far as the picture below.

Instead of doing his little headstand, he decided to play in the ball crawl… followed by playing with the remote and changing channels… followed by removing all my pans from the cabinet.

On Sunday, I got my camera out to catch him messing with Leila’s food. He always tries to mess with her food and water. If he is carrying anything when he is in the laundry room, it ends up in Leila’s water. We usually close the laundry room door, but I was doing laundry, so he started messing with her food. It started out innocently enough…

He went on to get Leila’s food all over (first pic). I watched him carefully as I was doing laundry to ensure he didn’t eat any of it… but it was worth it to keep him busy… I got to fold a load, put a load in the dryer and one in the wash. Leila ended up cleaning up and I just had to wash V’s hands.

Vince is ONE!

So I started writing this blog this morning, and stopped quickly because I almost totally forgot about Vince’s 1 yr old appt. It was 10:47am and his appt was at 11! I was supposed to pick him up… but thankfully my mom ended up meeting me there.

His 1 yr old stats are:
30.3 inches - 75%
21 lbs – 25%

He is lean and mean. But he was sick last week and is still recovering, so I think his weight is lower than normal. He was 22.5 lbs last Weds at the Dr’s.

Anyways… Vince turned 1 this past Saturday!!!

We had a small party and invited all Vince’s little friends (well… he only met some of them that day… but they are still his friends :). He had a great time, pounding on the ice chest with his buddies.

He thought blowing the candle out was too easy, so he put it out with his hand, which made him sad.

But then we gave him ice, and he enjoyed that before digging into his cake.

Later, all the babies, bigger kids, and Vince took turns hitting two different piƱatas.

And the night ended with some quality time spent with Vince’s buddy, Damien.

All in all, everyone had a great time. We were all tired after a full day and fell asleep before we got to catch Saturday Night Live. A few more pictures from the party are below.
